Cornell University student presents thesis in bra, underwear to protest against ‘oppressive beliefs.’
A Cornell University student delivered her thesis wearing only her bra and underwear in protest of a professor who allegedly questioned her choice of clothing.
Letitia Chai stripped down to her undergarments while presenting in her “Acting in Public” class on Saturday because she wanted to stand up “against oppressive beliefs and discrimination.”
This came after Chai and Prof. Rebekah Maggor clashed on Wednesday. Chai was getting up to present a draft of her thesis when Maggor asked, “Is that really what you would wear?”
On that day she was wearing shorts; she wore the same thing on Saturday before she started stripping.
According to the Cornell Sun:
A male international student in the class made a comment during the discussion that the speaker has a “moral obligation” to her audience to dress conservatively during her thesis presentation, at which point Chai left the room with two students following to comfort her.

The professor was wrong for humiliating her in front of her whole class, criticizing her for wearing shorts.
